Hara Partners with Venuworks!
VenuWorks’ President, Steve Peters announced that a Management Agreement has been signed between Hara Arena in Dayton, OH and the Ames, Iowa-based company. John Siehl will serve as Hara/Venuworks liaison as well as an Executive Director at Hara effective immediately.
“We are delighted to be working with the Hara family in a coordinated effort to increase events at this venerable, iconic complex,” said Steven Peters, VenuWorks president. “The Hara Complex has been a part of the Dayton area since 1964. We hope to continue to add to that history for many years to come.”
Siehl began his career in facility management at the Hara Arena in 1965 and worked there for 24 years before heading across town to Wright State University’s Nutter Center. At the Nutter Center, he served as Executive Director for 20 years before retiring in September 2010. Currently, he is VenuWorks’ Director of Support Services and he will continue with those job responsibilities as well. Siehl will finish his term as Chair of the International Association of Venue Managers in late July.
“Hara Arena is thrilled to announce the return of one of its former Directors, John Siehl. We have very fond memories of John’s leadership,” said Rue Wampler, owner and operations director of the Hara Complex. “John has built a strong relationship here at Hara and with so many in our industry. He shares our passion for restoring and maintaining the building as the icon that it is in Dayton.
“Hara, and the Dayton market, will certainly benefit from Venuworks' facility management experience and expertise,” said Wampler. “As a family-owned facility, we've taken great pride in our independence over the years. This partnership is a result of our great faith in, and respect for, John Siehl, Steve Peters and the entire Venuworks staff.”
“I am excited to be returning to the Hara Complex and working with the Wampler family,” said Siehl. “I feel honored to have the opportunity to return to the place where my career began.”
Hara Complex is near Dayton, Ohio and has 165,000 square feet which consists of a 5,500 seat arena, four exhibition halls and a conference center. More information on the Hara Arena can be found at www.haracomplex.com.
